Every time I think about Japan, I can’t help but smile. There’s something magical about how the old and new fit together so perfectly here. One moment I’m standing in front of a centuries-old temple, feeling the quiet weight of history, and the next I’m swept into a street glowing with neon lights and buzzing with life.
And the food . Oh, the food. Whether it’s a bowl of steaming ramen on a rainy night or the delicate perfection of fresh sushi, every bite feels like a little love letter from Tokyo to me. Rarely can I remember a time when I left a restaurant sad and disappointed in the food quality. It happens, but much less than in America I find. I genuinely hope you are a foodie, but even if you are not Japan may convert you. When it makes something, it masters it.
The cities are alive in a way that makes me want to stay up all night just to soak it in. Which I do, every trip. I am not a person who enjoys being out in the night time hours, yet in Japan it’s another story. One where Instagram filters need not be applied.
That’s what I adore most about Japan, it’s a place where tradition and modern life dance together, where nature and city balance each other like yin and yang. Being there feels like stepping into a dream I never want to wake up from.
